My first card

So I have always wanted to try my hand at cardmaking... I know I can make a few cards here and there for holidays, birthdays and such, but I've never made cards for anything else. Well, my friend asked me to make her wedding announcements, 40 of them!! Sure, I can do it! Well, I made some proofs for her to pick from and she decided on a font and wording...Well enough babble, here is the finish product: So what do you think?

My Lil Soccer Player!!!

Zoe had her first soccer practice tonight. She is so excited to play soccer! Her team is the Diamonds and her first game is 3/28 @9am!!! (9am?!? WTF?) I can't say that I'm too excited about having to get up that early, but it should be fun! Nick and Zoe had a date at Academy last night and bought all of her soccer gear. She of course had to have PINK everything... Pink and Black cleats, pink and white soccer ball, pink shin guards and of course a pink soccer hair thingy!! It was fun for her and Daddy to go and be one with the soccer stuff.. I was just there for the ride. Zoe did really good for her first practice. She is kind of timid but she will get better. Here are a few of my favorite pics from tonight:

She told me after practice that she really liked soccer, but didn't like getting all sweaty!!! I will keep everyone posted with Zoe's progress and see if she still likes it after the first game!!

Welcome Home Hamic!

So, after one long year of waiting for my brother to come home, he finally is! Safe and in one peice. We went down to Killeen on Sunday to welcome him home. I'm so glad that I can fight with him in person now, rather than thousands of miles away. Here are a few pictures from our trip: This was right before the buses arrived full of jetlagged Army men. They got a motorcycle escort onto the base.
After a few minutes of unloading and anxious crying, the buses drove off to reveal the troops waiting to see their families.

They said a quick prayer and a few other things that we couldn't hear and said "Families find your solider!" and we were off to find him. My dad holding my neice Emma's hand and I was holding Micaela and Zoe's. I don't remember where the rest of our group was, but they weren't far behind. All I heard was my Dad and Emma yelling "Jason!" & "Daddoh!" and then there he was, in the sea of soliders, my brother was home! This is my favorite picture. To see the smiles on their faces and the tears in their eyes, pure happiness. Daddoh was home!!!

After the welcome home ceremony, we had to go find all his bags and we went out to eat. We went to the Texas Roadhouse and had a great meal. It was really cool, because a table beside us full of soliders that had just got home 2 weeks earlier bought him a 'Jager Bomb' and toasted him. He's glad to he home, and as much as I hate to admit it... I'm glad he's home too!!

Welcome Home Hamic!!

National Kidney Foundation Walk

On May 2, 2009, Zoe and I will be participating in the National Kidney Foundation walk in Plano. We will be walking with a team from work, 'The Replacements' (Cute name for a transplant program isn't it?), who walked last year. (I was sick so I didn't get to walk) We need your help to spread awareness about this cause and the walk. I'm not asking for money as I know ecomonic times are hard right now, so if you want to give or just want to walk to show your support, you are welcome to join our team and walk with us on May 2!!

Here is the link to our team 'The Replacements' NFK site:

Enjoying the spring time weather while it lasts...

Well, It didn't last for very long, but we tried to enjoy while we had it. Saturday we went to Mountain Creek Lake Park. It was windy but very nice outside. Zoe had never been to this park before so she was excited to play by the lake. Grandma Lyla, Isaiah and JD are here for spring break and went with us to the park. Zoe tried to ride her tricycle but it was too windy, she kept getting blown away. So we decided to go down by the lake and skip rocks, Zoe just threw anything she got her had on, into the water. Here are some pictures from our trip to the park and the lake:

We also decided to take the oppurtunity to bust out the sidewalk chalk and draw. Zoe and Grandma Lyla played a little hopscotch and drew a few things.. These are a few of my favorite pics: (Please no comments about my tall grass and dandelions)

Everyone is doing good. Nick, Zoe, Isaiah, JD and Lyla are all doing well. Baby #2 and I are feeling good, I'm starting to regain my energy. (not that I had alot to begin with) I am 11 weeks and a few days preggo...I will be so glad to be out of the first trimester!! All the worries and concern will be gone. I'm still wearing regular clothes, but things are getting a little snug in the belly area, it won't be long before maternity clothes are needed. It's true what they say about second pregnancies, everything does happen ALOT sooner than the first. I kind of feel bad though, with Zoe I recorded everything.... This time around I'm not doing alot of scrapbooking or recording... I guess I still have time to catch up on that later. Right now I think I'm going to catch up on some sleep. Good Night all!

A little update for ya...

So this week I kind of had a little scare..Monday as I was leaving work I had this sharp, pulling pain on the left side of my pelvis... (hip/pelvis area) Well it was bad enough to stop me in my tracks... I'm supposed to be having some normal growing pains, but this didn't feel normal. So I left work, went home to change for the gym....( Prepare yourself for TMI = To Much Information) and go pee, well I has some spotting and I freaked out. I called the doc and he said it is not abnormal to have some spotting and pain, but if I have any heavy bleeding, i should go to the ER or constant spotting through out the night that I should call him in the am and they would have me come in and have a sono...But in the mean time I was not to lift, push, pull, or do anything the rest of the night. I immediately started crying and thinking about all the reasons as to why I was spotting. I called Nick and he was completely calm (probably because he knew if he freaked, I would freak even more) and he promised me an easy night and Ice cream for dinner. Ok so fast forward... I woke up around midnight with the same pain and more spotting, needless to say I did get much sleep after that. So I call the doc first thing in the am, and I had an appointment that afternoon. I got to meet the other doc in the practive. She did an exam and sono. The doc said she could tell there was blood, but could tell what caused it... She did say I have multiple cyst on my ovaries and that could have caused it... But didn't know for sure. So here is the best part.... Baby #2 looks great! Measuring at 10wks 1d, and I was supposed to be 9wk 5ds. Baby's got a big head and little arms and legs... and now here's the best-best part... The sac that they were calling a 'missed twin' is now gone... The baby no longer has a roommate!!! When I saw that the sac was gone I felt as if a weight had been lifted, there was no longer anything to get in the way of Baby #2 growing!!! So an appointment for a scary situation, turned into a great appointment!! I am very happy... and I don't have another appointment until April 3! P.S. I am going to try not to gain any weight this month, as I gain 3.5 pounds.... not a good start, but hey I'm Pregnant!!!

I hope you all have a great week and weeknd! Isaiah and Lyla are coming up for spring break, so I will post an update about our week, in a week! :) Until then, Take care!
