National Kidney Foundation Walk

On May 2, 2009, Zoe and I will be participating in the National Kidney Foundation walk in Plano. We will be walking with a team from work, 'The Replacements' (Cute name for a transplant program isn't it?), who walked last year. (I was sick so I didn't get to walk) We need your help to spread awareness about this cause and the walk. I'm not asking for money as I know ecomonic times are hard right now, so if you want to give or just want to walk to show your support, you are welcome to join our team and walk with us on May 2!!

Here is the link to our team 'The Replacements' NFK site:

Why Walk?
The National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Walk is a non-competitive, fundraising walk focusing on education and prevention of kidney and urinary tract diseases, and awareness of the need for organ donation. The Kidney Walk presents an opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to celebrate LIFE while participating in an inspiring, community-based event which calls attention to the need for early detection of kidney disease while supporting NKF’s patient services, public and professional initiatives and kidney research.

FAST FACTS:
  • Chronic kidney disease affects 26 million Americans and another 20 are at risk
  • Risk factors include high blood pressure, diabetes and family history
  • 1 in 9 American adults have kidney disease—and most don’t know it
  • 92,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant

If you have any questions or need help signing up, please feel free to email me @ stefaniewade1023@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Stefanie
